Our Beliefs

Why should you vote for us?

We are passionate about representing the best interests of the students in our grade. This passion is translated to hard work and, ultimately, goals being met. We strongly believe that this campaign is about you, not about us. It is our goal to talk to as many freshmen as we can to hear a wide variety of opinions on school policies and on what we can do to improve our amazing school. We are here to make sure that everyone’s opinions are heard in such a large school. This campaign is about bringing popular school issues to the administration and speaking on behalf of all of the freshmen. We have faced the same problems as the rest of you, like missing the cut-off to get into the library during our frees, and not being able to use our phones anywhere else in the building. We know how the emergency printing station and library never seem open long enough or shared evenly, or how it’s so frustrating that all of our teachers use different grading websites. We understand the frustration of not being able to get into school after your lunch period until the warning bell, and how you feel that your locker is useless to you and so hard to get to. We want to tackle these and many other issues on the Freshman Caucus, and even if we don’t win this election, it is our utmost priority to ensure we can continue to work with the Student Union and school administration to promote the wellbeing of all freshmen. We are passionate and dedicated to being a force for change and good for all of  you, and we hope you’ll consider us in the upcoming election.

Why is our ticket qualified?

Throughout our collective time in students councils we have learned how to gauge and accomplish what students want and need. Regardless of what positions we have held individually, we always try to talk to students and learn individual perspectives on an array of student issues. Both of us have experience planning school wide events, negotiating with school administrations, and working with outside organizations to help our schools with programs and funding. We both have dedicated much of our time and effort into pushing forward student wants, needs and right, regardless of how much work it takes and we know we can continue to this at Stuyvesant.

Our Platform

  1. The emergency printing station is always crowded, and often malfunctioning. Let's work on making it easier for all of us to print when we need to.

  2. We want to tackle the issue of Freshman locker placement and see what we can do to make locker placement more useful for all of us

  3. Finally, we want to support what you care about and what you want. Please respond to our surveys or talk to us in person so we can learn more about what matters to you and what you would like your Freshman Caucus representatives to do.
