Your vote matters and we want to make sure that you are choosing the candidates that you believe in. Let's introduce our candidates in the SchneiderCorr campaign!
Katerina Corr for President
Hello, my name is Katerina Corr and I am running for Freshman Caucus President with Jonathan
Schneiderman! We are very exited to hear what you want to see in our school this year.
Although we are freshmen, we still have a voice in our school and we want to make sure your
inputs are heard by the Student Union and the Administration.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. In sixth grade I joined our student council and since then I have been passionate about being active in the school. In seventh grade I was chosen as one of the four Manhattan Leadership Council representatives for our school (East Side Middle School). In seventh and eight grade we worked to create legislation that encouraged every public middle and high school in New York City to create and maintain a functioning Gender-Sexuality Alliance. In June of 2017, a resolution and a bill regarding Gender-Sexuality Alliances was introduced to City Council with the help of Council Member Ben Kallos and Council Member Daniel Dromm. I have testified twice at City Council to support this legislation and will continue to support it. I am currently one of the Human Resources Directors of the Stuyvesant Student Union.
Throughout those two years I stayed in almost everyday, sacrificing my time with friends and going out to lunch to work. I learned that even if you are young, you can make a change not only on a family or school level but on a City or State level as well.
In my free time I like to write and I play piano!
Why does this matter? Well, I want to relay that I am willing to do the same for you. I will work hard to implement ideas that we feel would benefit our school and I will do this regardless of what sacrifices I may have to make. When making your decision of who to vote for, remember that your vote counts. Don't vote for someone because they are say everything you want to hear. Vote for the people that will make it happen. Jonathan and I are passionate about representing your best interests and we will work together to do our best to do so.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or have anything you want to contribute in terms of ideas please feel free to check out our contact page and fill out a form. If you would like to help campaign for us be sure to fill out one as well.

Jonathan Schneiderman for Vice President
Hello. Good afternoon, evening, or morning. I'm Jonathan Schneiderman, and (in a turn of events
that surely shocks you to your core (Corr?)) I'm running for Freshman Caucus Veep (which is short
for "Vice President" and which is also is definitely a better abbreviation than "Pres").

Freshman Caucus is really important; in many ways, high school is not a democracy. Even when it is, it tends to lean against freshmen: the SU President is almost always a senior and the SU Vice President is almost always a junior. For a freshman to get an SU directorial position (see: Corr, Katerina) is nothing short of strange. Freshman Caucus, then, is basically the only way for we Freshmen to make ourselves heard in this school.

If you want to hear about me, read this paragraph; otherwise, skip it. I like musical theater, especially Stephen Sondheim (who is a musical and lyrical genius). I hold that Series of Unfortunate Events is a far superior series to Harry Potter, a phrase which here means "it superbly explores the moral complexities and ambiguities of life while maintaining a sardonic and very literary voice throughout." This may have something to do with why I'm an awful person. I was not involved with student government until last year, when I was on student council. During the 2016 General Election, I did some work for Clinton, going to Pennsylvania to knock on doors with MoveOn and working at her office on the Upper West Side to phonebank. I don't have the same kind of political experience as Katerina, though. Perhaps this can be filed under "reasons why she is the Presidential candidate and I the Veep".

Anyway, let's do this. If you saw an earlier version of this page you may have seen that we were advocating for phone usage in the hallways and coming in during in the middle of the period. Early in the campaign we established that we would no longer be advocating for those policies, which we announced on our facebook page.

Our Campaign Managers
Claire De La Roche
Hello all! I’m Claire De La Roche, and I’m proud to say I’m one of the campaign managers for the SchneiderCorr campaign. First, a little background about myself: I’m an outdoors person, and I love to go hiking and backpacking in my spare time. I’m an avid swimmer, and I play ukulele. I’m also in the school’s choir, which is actually where I met Katerina for the first time. I chose to support Katerina and Jonathan as they run for freshman caucus because they’re dedicated to listening to and meeting the student body’s needs. Their platform not only reflects common concerns that freshmen face, but also encourages you to reach out to them about any problems or suggestions you may have. They are happy to hear from you, and will work to create positive change in our school environment.
I hope that all of you reading this choose to support our campaign as we work to further improve your time at Stuyvesant.
Talia Kahan
I am Talia Kahan. Before coming to Stuy I went to the Heschel school. Coming to Stuy has been a very big change because I at my middle school we got around one hour of homework per night. I love to play tennis, run, tap dance, and hang out with my friends! I also am interested in all subjects, but I am particularly interested in psychology and mental illness. I chose to help the SchneiderCorr campaign because I love political activities and want to get more experience in them.
Isaac Lieberman
My name is Isaac Lieberman, I am a campaign manager for SchneiderCorr. In my middle school years, I participated in the Model UN and basketball program. I am happy to be continuing my Model UN career in high school and looking forward to finding a new sport to indulge in. Walks are one thing that defines me as a person, I love them. It gives me time to think about who I am and what I want to do with myself in terms of school and home life. SchniderCorr is something I have thought about and agreed within all aspects, we as students should have a say in what should be done to school a more productive, friendly, and less intense place to spend the next four years of our lives
Karl Chen
Hope your having a wonderful day! My name's Karl, and I guess that I'll be one of your campaign managers for this term. I'm an avid photographer, so I'll most likely help with making the posters, as well as distributing said posters throughout the school. I think that a lot of the problems that this campaign aims to solve applies to the majority of Stuy students-such as improving the printing station, the locker situation for freshmen, etc. So by promoting you guys, I think that we'll all be able to not only improve the school and its resources, but the experience for the individual students here at this school.
